STEP-6 (5.5)

The 6-th international workshop on
Static-Tribo-Electricity of Powder

10th October, 2021
Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan

Rohm Plaza, Kyoto University

Unfortunately and regrettably STEP-6 (2021) did not 'happen', due to the restrictions of international transportations and quarantine policies at international boarders as countermeasures against the COVID-19 pandemic, although the 8th Asian Particle Technology Symposium (ATP 2021), held in Osaka, was successfully concluded as a hybrid symposium (thank you very much indeed for cooperations and (remote) participations). STEP-6 will be postponed or kept as a retired number, which is not yet decided.

STEP-6 (2021) will be held as a half-workshop, in association with the 8th Asian Particle Technology Symposium (ATP 2021) which is held at Osaka International Convention Center in October 2021. Attendees will give their technical presentations in the session of electrostatics in ATP 2021. The STEP activity will include a detailed roundtable discussion, laboratory tour, as well as an informal social gathering.

Under the situation of pandemic of COVID-19, things are not at all clear –– whether international borders open, how international transportations take place, and so on. The local organizing committee of APT 2021 is putting all the efforts to make it real, and STEP-6 depends on how APT 2021 will be proceeded. Please keep yourself updated.

STEP is a discussion-based international workshop on tribo-electricity and particle charging. The workshop scope covers a range of fundamental and applied topics related, but not limited to, the mechanism of generation of electrostatic charge, control of charged particles, measurement of electrostatic charge, and other topics related to tribo-electrisity. The workshop is open to all researchers and engineers in the field of Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and others. The STEP workshop provides an international forum to enable researchers and engineers in the field of tribo-electricity to have interactive dialog and to establish an international network.
